Feria ... stay close to God

Dear Fathers, Brothers,Sisters in Christ,

1 Maccabees 4:36-37, 52-59
 1 Chronicles 29:10bcd, 11abc, 11d-12a, 12bcd

In today's Gospel we have an example of righteous anger. There are, after all, some things that should make us angry and propel us into action. The questions are: what should we rightfully be angry about, and then, what should we do about it?

These are not easy questions and without some heavenly guidance we can be way off base, miss the mark, and think and do the wrong thing.

Realizing this, we must depend not on our limited understanding, but proceed with the mind and heart of God who knows all things and does them well.

"Yours, O LORD, are grandeur and power,
 majesty, splendor, and glory.
For all in heaven and on earth is yours." (1 Chronicles 29:11)

Stay close to God then, and avail yourself of His greatest gifts, His Son, His Church, the Blessed Virgin, His Saints, and all His holy ones.

 They will show you!
