The Solemnity of the Feast of the Nativity

Dear Fathers, Brothers, Sisters in Christ,

Isaiah 62:1-5
Psalm 89:4-5, 16-17, 27, 29
Acts 13:16-17, 22-25
Matthew 1:1-25

We
light candles to remind us of the light brought into the world so long ago. We string coloured lights to remind us of His beauty and all that He makes possible. We place luminaries as a reminder of the pathway He lights for all who believe in Him.

We place evergreen trees, wreaths and centrepieces to remind ourselves of the eternal life He has brought us, and also the ever-new vistas and the life He offers those who serve.

All we do is to remind one another that "Hodie Christus Natus Est." And He shall be called Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Prince of Peace.
May peace enter your soul, your house, your presence
and abide with you forever and ever.
Amen, Amen!
