Saint Mary Magdalene , 22 July 2014

Dear Fathers, Friends in Christ,

Micah 7:14-15, 18-20
 Psalm 85:2-4, 5-6, 7-8
 John 20:1-2, 11-18

"They have taken the Lord from the tomb
and we do not know where they put Him."

Our Lord was not made for the tomb; He was made for life, for our lives in particular. When we do not invite Him in, when we do not love as He commanded, for all intents and purposes we leave Him in the tomb.

Let us visit the tomb, then, and find it empty. Let us marvel with Mary Magdalene until we discover that He now gladly resides in our hearts! There, so we can take Him out to all the world and show each person His profound love.

The Lord is risen. He lives within each of us who believes in Him. Do not marvel at the empty tomb. Rather, marvel at your full hearts.
