Tuesday after Passion Sunday

Friends in Christ,

Saint John 14 verse 6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

On this Tuesday morning I wanted to focus on " The Truth" In this society you and I are living in, we would very much
like to hear the truth, e.g. when it comes to buying a car, when it comes which bank to trust for financial advice, when it
comes to trust politicians when we are required to vote for them to lead us after an election.
The truth is most important too in relation to what anyone, who labels himself or herself as Christian preaches.

On our televisions through commercials we are encouraged to " buy a jeep"  or to buy a prestige "BMW" car, but
what cardealers do not tell us is that after one buyes a brand new car that in a few years time when they are
requiring repairs the spare parts are just very costly, so dear that it makes people cry. Everyone who is in
the market for a new car almost needs a trusted friend, who is a qualified mechanic , who can give him or her friendly and truthful
advice. The papers are full with stories about the lies told by our current politicians. Is there such a thing
as an honest politician or are they in the end all the same? Who dares to stand up for the truth?
Banks in this country make huge profits, one would have thought that some of them would not have lowered their
standards by giving sound and truthful advise. As we all have experienced , being the victim of lies can be not only a costly
affair but also a very sad affair.

From experience, if you want to be an Orthodox Catholic Christian , then you are made out as a lyer or accused of
committing heresy.

I believe that we all need a friend like Jesus in our lives. A Holy person, Who you can trust through thick and thin.
He does always speak the truth , but is the truth. That is the way to go. If we walk in that spirit of truth,
then we shall never feel cheated or sad  or disappointed.

It may very well be that when you are reading you are a bitter and disappointed person, burt by lies. Now is the time
to walk out of this darkness into that Eternal Light, the Light of Jesus Christ. He is indeed our only Truth.
