Feria on Friday

Dear Fathers, Friends in Christ,

'Through the Roof'

When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Child, your sins are forgiven."
Mark 2:5
A paralytic man and his friends have literally chiseled their way through the roof in an effort to see Jesus and seek his healing touch. Jesus can't help but be impressed by this amazing display of faith. He rewards this young man's faith by absolving his sins and healing his paralysis.

There is a lesson in this gospel story for all of us. We will certainly face many obstacles in our search for Christ's loving embrace. We do not really need the resourcefulness of the paralytic and his friends. God's grace, love and forgiveness are not on the other side of the wall. These gifts are always available, freely given to each one of us. All we need to do is ask.
