Feria on the Thursday

Dear Fathers, Friends in Christ,

Matthew 10:7-15

When we were baptized we received the immeasurable gift of LOVE from our parents and from our Lord Jesus Christ. Love knew no bounds when we were so dependent on those who loved us and cared for us 24 hours a day. No one really has to teach a new mother and father how to love his or her child of God; it just comes naturally. Just as God watches over us and protects us, so too, must we watch over our lives and the lives of those we love.

How does today's Gospel message affect us in our daily lives, now that we are all grown up and feel very mature and self-sufficient?

Matthew tells us we should share the gifts that we have received. But what if those worthy citizens we approach do not welcome our overture of giving? Sadly, so many people have turned away from our loving Father. We must renew our efforts! With the power of the Holy Spirit, let us share our Lord with others, Some may just be waiting for a word of hope or of kindness to cross over the line from worldly lives to Holy ones. We need to continue our holy Journey and shake the dust from our sandals and not be deterred from spreading God's word to everyone we meet.

O Heavenly Father,
You commissioned us to give and receive without charge. Let us be Your modern day disciples as we go about our daily lives, speaking, listening and acting like Jesus! Amen!
