Dear Fathers, Friends in Christ
Numbers 6:22-27
Psalm 67:2-3, 5, 6, 8
Galatians 4:4-7
Luke 2:16-21
Today is the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God!
While not everyone can be a mother in the strict biological sense, all can be like a mother and all of us, we are told, are called to be holy.
Then, on this beautiful Solemnity, may we "ponder in our hearts" as Mary did in hers, the meaning and the impact of "The Word" becoming Flesh.
Let us consider the mystery, the challenge, the piercing thorn, the golden crown -- all that awaits those who let the Savior become flesh in them.
Pray for us, O Holy Mary Mother of God,
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
