Dear Fathers, Friends in Christ,
Acts 20:17-27
Psalm 68:10-11, 20-21
John 17:1-11a
Now glorify me, Father, with you,
with the glory that I had with you
before the world began. (John 17:5)
Jesus has always been. He will always be. He was there in the beginning; He is there with God now. His earthly life and ministry had an end, as do all human lives, but He did not stop being, nor has the glory that was there, and gave birth to the entire universe, diminished one bit.
What can diminish, is our ability to see that glory. Sometimes we become too centered on ourselves, too mired in our problems, too carried away by sin. And we fail to see the glory of the God who loves us. But all we need to do is remember that His glory never fades away. His love for us never diminishes. His desire for us never comes to an end.
Jesus is Lord and Jesus is risen! He is our gift from the Father, He is our Savior, our friend, our companion through life, our constant help. Jesus is God in all His Glory and always has been. O Praise Him!
