Solemnity of Christ the King - 22 November 2015

Dear Fathers, Friends in Christ,

Christ the King  Saint John 18:33-37

Then Pilate re-entered the pretorium and called Jesus to be reappear. " Are you the King of the Jews?" He asked.

We as human beings are able to do quite a bit. Sattelites are going round and round in space to transmit news, pictures and sound. We do know within minutes what is happening on the other side of the world. Even sermons that are being preached in
this part of the world can quickly be transmitted to the other side.  We also know more regarding the processes round the sun and on the sun, the radioactivity. Yes we know an enormous lost.

And yet on the other side of the spectrum we know nothing. We dont even know the names of our neighbours. We dont know how to approach someone, if something dreadful has happened. We dont know how to help the poor in our society.
There are no political solutions for the difference between rich and poor. And the rich become richer and the very poor amongst us even poorer. We dont even know how we can keep our environment clean, because the ground is polluted , the air
we breath in is polluted. We know about everything and yet we know nothing at all.

Pilate wants to know all about Jesus and asks Him if He is King , and if He is powerful, because he sees Him as a political rival. Jesus has followers, supporters. Well, Jesaiah and Daniel and all the prophet have foretold all this. The world is
going under, if we continue the way we live on it and look after it. Something has to happen. Something new and the foretell the coming of a new Kingdom, which will never go under. The majesty of Jesus, a Kingship of a new world order.

Pilate is not so pleased about this. He foresees his demise. But Jesus said:" Do not fear. My Kingship is not of this world. My Kingdom is not about power and recognition, but about love, peace and justice. These three to be devided amongst
all. When you really look at it , the kingdom of Jesus is combined political, social and godly model. It is a Kingdom, where " sharing " comes first above " growth". Not technical development but social development. It is not about money and how rich you are , but sharing what you have. Something strange like that ? That is not  of this
world.

Politicians who leave the choice to the voter dont really know what to do. They are stuck in a world percentages and indexes development modules. No, for a real change, there is a lot more required. The prophets foretold that things had to
be done differently and on this day you and I still need those old phrofesies. A new Kingship, but not of this world, a King who servers those at the bottom of our society. We, as Catholic Christians are invited to be part of this and to trust the
greatest King of all. God, Himself will complete those matters, with which we as God's people on earth begin.

Amen.
