Dear Fathers, Friends in Christ,
Saint Paul tells us in today's first reading (Ephesians 6:10–20),
that God is our protector, our strength and our armour against the devil. God is also our truth, our salvation, our sword. All the protection that we need comes from Him. All of the armour we require for our everyday battle is in His arsenal.
If we begin each day with prayer and pray throughout the day, He will surely assist us. If we ask Him to give us the courage that we need and to strengthen our faith, we will survive in this evil age and we will not fear the wickedness that surrounds us. Jesus is our commander-in-chief! Remember what He tells us in today's Gospel: "I yearned to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were unwilling."
(Luke 13:34)
Let us be willing to be gathered by Jesus into His army where we will fight in the name of the Lord with Mary our Mother, with the saints and angels and be victorious and rejoice for all eternity.
Amen!
