In the Octave of All Saints

Dear Fathers, Brothers, Sisters in Christ,

Romans 14:7-12
 Psalm 27:1bcde, 4, 13-14
 Luke 15:1-10

The second strophe of today's Responsorial Psalm begins with the words:

"One thing I ask of the LORD; this I seek. . . ."

Hearing these words, gives us the opportunity to think, "What one thing do I want most of the Lord?"

Certainly, at one time or another, we all have asked God for certain things, trusting that God hears our prayers and is
interested in helping us.

At the same time, we have also experienced that certain prayers seem not to be answered. Some of us may even go as far
as to say that it is as if God doesn't hear or care about our needs.
Pray then, asking God for the littlest and greatest of things, but most of all, pray that our most fervent desire (which by the
way, is also His), that we:

Dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
That I may gaze on the loveliness of the LORD
and contemplate his temple. (Psalm 27:4)
