In the Octave of All Saints

Dear Fathers, Brothers, Sisters in Christ

Romans 15:14-21
 Psalm 98:1, 2-3ab, 3cd-4
 Luke 16:1-8

St. Paul's stirring description of his ministry to the Gentiles reveals to us the opportunity and dignity of our own ministry to unbelievers.

You might think that being a minister of the Word of God is for others, but by means of our Baptism, we all have been consecrated to announce the Good News and bring salvation to the world!

That means that no matter what our station in life, no matter what we do or where we do it, we have a part to play in the coming of the Kingdom!

Just imagine what you and your prayers and the example of your life can accomplish for God in its own way, just as Paul accomplished after his conversion.

"Those who have never been told of Him shall see,
and those who have never heard of Him shall understand."
 (Romans 15:21)

 Stirring indeed!
