Feria on the Thursday ... Come Thou who art heavily laden

Dear Fathers, Friends in Christ,

Isaiah 26:7-9, 12, 16-19
 Psalm 102:13-14ab and 15, 16-18, 19-21
 Matthew 11:28-30

Who doesn't labor or have some heavy burden?

Even those we think "have it made" often carry unknown sorrow.

"Come to Me," the Lord says to them and to all of us, "and I will give you rest."

"Take up My yoke," He continues and learn that it's easy and His burden light.

And what is the Lord's yoke and what is His burden?

They are, simply put, access to His omnipotence with its gentle love and unmatchable power to do all things. Yoked to Him we go where He goes, see and hear what He does, and in the process, unload everything that weighs and holds us down.

Come to Me says the Lord, "My yoke is easy, and My burden light."
(Matthew 11:30)
