Where could we ever get enough bread in this deserted place to satisfy such a crowd? (Matthew 15:33)
In today's Gospel regarding the multiplication of the loaves and fishes, that sentence caught my attention. It is a question we might also ask.
Where could we ever get enough bread (or whatever is needed) to satisfy such a crowd?
Where indeed?
Often, satisfying our needs and the needs of those we love seems difficult enough, but when coupled with the needs of others and indeed those of the whole world, it can seem insurmountable and bring us to a paralyzing halt.
It is then (if not by God's grace, before) that we must remember - it's not just what I or you can do, but what God does when we cooperate with Him.
So give Him your seven loaves and few fish or whatever little it may seem you have and let the Almighty do the rest.
As with today's Gospel - that will be more than enough and extra besides.
