Only goodness and kindness follow me

The goodness and mercy of God follow us--even when we are walking in the wrong direction. God hunts like a hound after a scent, only more determined. God never gives up. God is always there, somewhere, somehow, working all things for the good, when we're alone and afraid, when we're broken by grief or shame, and when all we've got going is the workaday or the whining child. He seeks every sheep, every lost coin. No matter how prodigal, how absent, how lost, how lame, how blind, God runs to meet us on the road and invite us to the feast.
