Feria on the Thursday

Dear Fathers, Friends in Christ,

'Not Yet Complete'

Then King David went in and sat before the LORD and said, "Who am I, Lord GOD, and who are the members of my house, that you have brought me to this point?"
2 Samuel 7:18

The Lord has brought you this far, and he's not finished. No matter the heartaches and disappointments of your past--or the passion you might even now be enduring--the Lord has preserved you, his most beloved creation, and his work in you is not yet complete. In times of affliction, it can be difficult to divine any greater purpose. We may find ourselves incapable of gratitude, and yet our question will sound much the same as King David's: Why me? David's prayer becomes a prayer of wonder at what God is making of us, because surely he is at work, even when it hurts...especially when it hurts. "You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage," explained C.S. Lewis, "but he is building a palace."
