2 Samuel 12:1-7a, 10-17
Psalm 51:12-13, 14-15, 16-17
Mark 4:35-41
HOW OFTEN have we felt, or heard others say when their lives are in an upheaval, "Where are You God? How can You let these things be happening to me? I am 'drowning'!"
We can easily identify with the fear and panic of the apostles when they believed their boat would sink in the storm, and there was Jesus, asleep in the boat! We know from the gospel that, in time, Jesus rebuked the wind and calmed the sea. He then asked them, "Why are you terrified? Do you not have faith?"
There are two absolutes that we might forget at times. They are that Jesus always loves us and, though we have free will and may fail, He will never leave us. We might turn from Him, but He never turns away from us.
Things might not always turn out the way we wish, but we cannot control everything. We can, however, pray that God's will be done in our regard. The "sleeping Jesus" still loves us and is aware of all that is happening in our lives.
