Dear Fathers, Friends in Christ,

Jesus' call to Levi in today's gospel is a call to each of us:
"Follow Me!"
It is the call to all of us as we begin another Lenten season in
the Church.
Levi, a tax collector, was probably pretty busy sitting at his
customs post, but he left everything and followed Christ. We
might feel that we are too busy, have other obligations, or
perhaps we are emotionally distracted, such as from a major,
personal loss. But, Christ asks that we follow Him. Levi prepared
a banquet for Christ at his home, and invited others to join them.
Do we feel comfortable to open up ourselves that much to
Christ? How much preparation are we willing to make?
Christ is waiting for our response during this Lenten Season of
2014.
