Monday in the Octave of Easter

Dear Fathers, Friends in Christ,

And behold, Jesus met them on their way and greeted them.
 (Matthew 28:9)

Today's gospel tells us that Mary Magdalene and her companion believed the Lord had risen and so they were running to tell the apostles the good news. But before they could arrive . . . bingo!  Jesus himself is suddenly there before them--recognizable, radiant and ready to greet them!

Can you imagine? How would you feel if Jesus met you like this?

How could the women in the gospel not be absolutely stunned and afraid, yet overjoyed to see Jesus . . .  yet hardly daring to believe--the unbelievable?

The best good news, ever, is that it's true! Christ is risen! Truly He is risen!

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
